I had a something similar last week, in that I went into my local John Lewis store for a Sonos demo. The young man in the store proceeded to highlight the sound quality of the item by playing me some (c)rap. His logic was that some of the best poets are (c)rappers. I begged to differ, and changed the music to Like A Rolling Stone by Bob Dylan, to which he said 'What is this?". I retorted with "A poet".

That's the equivalent of playing something from 1915 to a young man in 1965 who liked bob dylan.
