NO - I love that song! At least it's not "Ito Eats". But if you really need to, listen to Moonlight Swim. I just love the way he changes pitch at 1:34 in this video.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

OK.

Why does this response remind me of "I, (your name)..."

I need some off-beat, hook-driven, ear candy songs. As insipid as it is, "Rock a Hula" can be relentless on your brain...

"SUGGEST ONE TO REPLACE IT!!"

This will do the trick?

Don't thank me!

Loving the Elvis - just thought those two songs equaled the thread title. I'm a sucker for ear candy - love "MMM Bop", for example.

60-70s Bubblegum is near and dear to my heart.

Also loving the Elvis.

Rock-a-Hula is great...as is Ito Eats, and Slicin' Sand.

I think that soundtrack was the biggest selling album of the 60's (during the 60's), if the information I had was correct.

I have the movie on DVD...what is cool, is seeing sites around Waikiki from 50 years ago.

If you've ever been to Hawaii/Waikiki, it is a kick to see what it was like half a century ago.

Hey, I thought it was a good gag...taking the literal approach.

"Rock A Hula" is such a fun song that Elvis Costello should cover it live. I've been listening to Command Peformances--The Essential 60's Masters II which compiles the best soundtrack songs during that period. It includes songs like "Return To Sender" and "Viva Las Vegas" that everyone knows and also "Follow That Dream" (which Springsteen has performed in concert ) "Once Is Enough" and "I'll Be Back," which are lesser known, but standout tracks made among all this factory work.

The dancers make this one a real hoot:
