Yes congrats to Novak from another huge Nadal fan. The man has class! He played his very best and it was enough today. plus he is #1 in the world as of Monday. I'd like to see Nadal reclaim his #1 ranking soon. In any case, it will be fun watching them battle!

Nadal is so NOT an ego maniac!! He is gratious, modest, always raves about the competitor and works his ass off to be at the top; he watches tapes of the competition, plays with a lot of pain, studies new moves and techniques and conditions his body to be the best he can be. I do like Novak a lot but Nadal deserves to be respected. Sicilian, I know everyone has favorites but Nadal is so not offensive.

I dig Maria a lot, but the women's final on Saturday was a bit embarassing. Rather poor quality tennis and both players were double-faulting all over the place. It made me nostalgic for the halcyon days of women's tennis in the early 90's when you had Graf, Seles, Sabatini, Sanchez-Vicario, et al, at the top of their games.

The men's final by contrast was a thriller - very gutsy. Viva Novak! Did you see him put a piece of the Wimbledon turf in his mouth after his win? I like this kid, he's a kook.

guitarbastard - I agree with you on Roger he is the best of all-time but don't diss Nadal he is the best right now and Novak is certainly gaining on him. Roger is older and has slippeda bit his recent matches against Nadal have showed that. Congrats to Novak and Kvitova its nice to see some new blood win!!

Mickschix - Agreed Nadal is not snotty and is always gracious and praises his opponent.
