How come The Stones rarely go there anymore? They've only been to Portland 3 times since 1966.

How about Seattle and Vancouver, BC?

I'm more concerned with your medical condition... are they large bubbles?

Because it rains all the time and reminds them of dreary England? I dunno.

My guess is that it's just because the Pacific northwest is a very tucked away area. New York, Toronto, and Dallas, for example, are all much more accessible to a wider population. That being said, I'd absolutely love it if they came back. Just a short ferry ride and I'm there! But I understand why they'd choose other areas over mine

Perhaps they haven't played Portland much because there's no large stadium? I was surprised they didn't play either Vancouver or Seattle this year. As far as weather goes, both cities have covered stadiums so that's no big deal.
Ironically, it seems the whole west of North America is going through drought. In Vancouver, located in the coastal rain forest, there is a ban on lawn watering now and washing vehicles because we've had so little rain this year and very little snow this past winter. Record hot temperatures, too.

Maybe the boys will come to Vancouver/Seattle next year. Don't forget Victoria has a new arena. Aerosmith just played there. How bout Kelowna, BC, its a small place but would sell out as it's in the middle of the province. In fact Aerosmith just played there before Victoria.

New York City averages more rainfall annually than Seattle.
Last year 12 inches more (37 vs 49)..

This year the billionaire in San Diego bought the Seattle/Vancouver slot..

The reason they don't frequent here as much as other places I believe is that there aren't a lot of nearby venues... more travel to get here and ten get to the next viable state/province..

Maybe they will do a Great North or Arctic Circle type tour:

Vancouver, Calgary, St. Petersburg Russia, Estonia, Finland, etc...

I know my geography might not get up past the line but the idea is Northern Cities...

Maybe the Northern Lights Tour 2016

Portland just isn't a big enough market;
I did expect them to touch Seattle or Vancouver but as others said above, that show looks like it went to SD.
I'd be surprised if there isn't a PNW show next go round, but it will only be one and probably in Vancouver
Re Seattle; I hear Key Arena sucks and nobody wants to play it anymore..?

I'm very surprised that Seattle and Denver have been skipped the past 10 years, two of the fastest growing cities in the US. And Denver also has cities near it that are close by like Fort Collins, Boulder, Colorado Springs..

An Arctic Circle tour would not be possible because of the mosquitoes.

I'm not concerned...just don't want to know about it. TMI, Mr. Bubbles.

But yeah, Seattle would be cool, I've always wanted to visit there.

I was kidding, of course, but what you said about it being so isolated (compared to the Northeast - Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, Indy, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Philly, DC, NYC/NJ, Boston) is probably the main reason.

They played at Century Link Field in Seattle in 2006, at Key Arena in 2005, and in Tacoma in 2002. Three times in the past 13 years doesn't seem like they're avoiding the PNW. It would have been nice to see them this time around but . . .

Just stop...the Rolling Stones are not freakin' playing in Kelowna, or Victoria.

Aerosmith have a lead singer and guitar player that emulate the Stones, but they are not the Stones.

I went to the Key Arena show. The opening band was Motley Crue. Just lots of noise!

...and Vancouver twice in 94,97 and 2006 all at BC Place Stadium. (twice in 1989)

Aziz Ansari said on yesterday's Freakonomics podcast that one reason he moved to New York was "Bands don't come to South Carolina."

You bet Victoria has a new arena! The Save On Foods Memorial Centre. As much as I'd love it, I can't quite picture the Stones coming to somewhere as comparatively small as Victoria. I can dream...

I often get Tommy Lee and Charlie Watts mixed up as well.

I wonder if it's because of the 'Lee'?

Tommy LEE

CharLEE Watts.

See, quite confusing.

Haha got it but I think you have misunderstood what I said - I was commenting on Dave G's post saying - I went to the Key Arena show. The opening band was Motley Crue. Just lots of noise!

I was just agreeing with him that the Crue are just alot of noise

But I do love your CharLEE comparison very creative !!

i can only imagine what it would be like explaining to you the stone's original bassist.

"who played bass before daryl?"

"why man?"

"who?"
