Considering their way of compiling it, it makes sense that the Stones aren't in it!!! Altamont wasn't exactly positive... or a greatest live performance at that and that's probably something that keeps them from being included in these kind of things, which are just silly anyway.

they are very silly, but i look at them as the way that teenagers today will learn about legendary music... and so i think they have impact.

i probably learned a lot from the equivalent of these in the 70s and early 80s (e.g. rolling stone magazine lists of "greatest" and 'best of")

i would've thought one of the 1969 dates would have made the list, probably MSG. there was a lot riding on that tour for the stones - first tour in america in a long time, new guitarist, new album, etc.

Total utter bullsh-t. I can think of numerous Stones shows that would be at the top of any live performances list. Mick Jagger is the absolute top front man and performer, bar none. No one living is even close. His performance on his worst night would blow away this whole list.
MICK JAGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keith is a God, no doubt. But MJ is IT. As long as he does what he does
The Stones will Roll on. Then every show he and The Stones puts on is capable of being on of the Top 10 live performances list.

Let it go now... MJ MM SF '71

does anyone know if this tour has gone down as the most lucrative in history.
the stones and U2 seem to sea saw with the net profit on tours.
i think you U2 held the record up until 2012.

U2 holds the record from their 360 tour. Neither of these tours will come close.

Although when you say lucrative, maybe for the small number of shows it could be considered the most lucrative...

well i just thought slowly but surely this tour, if you included it from 2012 up until now with the ticket prices being what they are, it might catch up with U2.
but i guess they only include one tax year in their summery.
its unlikely though. this 15 to 20 shows at a time makes good sense at their age. i can see them continuing like this for a few more years if they continue enjoying it.

Billboard just wrote an article that says "Stones Gross $360.00 since 2012"
Three hours ago. It tops the list. Sorry don't know how to link.

Start me Up Live Licks '03.

the beatles better live than the stones, erm i dont think so.

i honestly believe people dont see the big picture when surveys are compiled.

in another survey the stones were the 13th biggest selling band in the world and behind celine dion, so whos having a joke.

messi and ronaldo always get world player of the year despite several german players offering far more to thier teams in the last couple of years but people dont want to see that, they voted ronaldo as worlds best player last year despite him having another poor world cup so clearly sometimes people dont think with a full deck at times.

also in 1983 culture clubs karma chameleon won the best song of the year, what a joke.

I don't know who compiled that list but it looks like they've never heard of the Grateful Dead.

It's a nice gesture to Mercury, but I doubt that anyone would watch those live performances of songs like "Radio Ga Ga" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", and think they are very good. It's harmless.

it always shocks me how popular queen is in europe to this day. i never considered them any more important than say the eagles, who i hold in pretty low regard.

If you put on "Another One Bites the Dust":
Casual fan reaction: "This is Queen! This is so cool! Turn it up!"
If you put on "Paint It Black":
Casual fan reaction: "Who is this?"
