Interesting to see how the album went on all formats:

Physical sales (CD): #4
Vinyl sales: #2
Digital sales: #63
Streaming: not even top 100

With an overall chart of #7 the physical sales count about 95% of the total.

From Music Week:

"Number one in 1971, The Rolling Stones' ninth studio album Sticky Fingers re-enters the chart this week at number seven (9,215 sales). Its return follows the release of deluxe (2 CD) and super deluxe (3 CD) editions containing rare and previously unreleased material to coincide with the group's current North American tour. Sticky Fingers last surfaced in the Top 75 - at number 74 - immediately after being released in a newly remastered edition in 1994. The band's most successfully reactivated studio album, Exile On Main Street, topped the chart when expanded in 2010. Their last Top 10 appearance before this week came in November 2012, when their compilation album, GRRR! reached number 3."

1 Muse 72,863
2 Florence + The Machine 24,734
3 Collabro 11,532
4 Ed Sheeran 9,884
5 Sam Smith 9,344
6 Leftfield 9,250
7 Rolling Stones 9,215
8 Taylor Swift 9,005
9 Mumford & Sons 8,518
10 Of Monsters & Men 8,437

11 Simply Red 8,337

In Germany is 'Sticky Fingers' at the moment at #11 in the 'media control' - Album charts: [www.charts.de] . I hope it will still enter the Top-10 .... that's not bad for a re-release after 44 years. smiling smiley

Interesting difference between Germany's 'media control' (#11) and 'GfK Entertainment' (#5) - both are official data provider.
Reason for the difference: the 'media control' data are from 5-Jun-2015 to 11-Jun-2015 and the 'GfK Entertainment' data are from 12-Jun-2015 to 18-Jun-2015.

I think Billboard charts come out Thursday? Anyway, it will be Top 10. Didn't Exile re-enter in the Top 5?

Not to start a debate on who's bigger or better - but out of curiousity - how did the sales of the reissued Exile, Some Girls and now Sticky Fingers compare to the reissued Led Zeppelin 2-CD's compare? Wonder if Georgelicks has the sales numbers?

What promotion did Universal give this reissue? I'm amazed that enough people actually know it's out in the UK and Europe.
Even in the States the Stones aren't making much more than a timid effort on the tour apart from the one-off gig.

In my town are several big ads up, one under a train bridge right around the corner. It's titled "Das Meisterwerk von 1971" and has the URL klebrigefinger.de printed above,
which would logically mean Sticky Fingers in german.

Yeah...it's another building but your wittiness reminds me of something CE told me:

Even with little promotion the results are amazing for a 44 years old album from a 53 years old band: Top 5 in the US, Netherlands and Germany, Top 10 in the UK, Ireland, Japan among others. Nowadays its all about Facebook, YouTube, Twitter.

Thanks for sharing that, you can tell she's a very nice lady. It's too bad that things don't always work out at IORR.

Maybe she can stage a return with the moniker, SpeedFreakJive ?
