For many years Keith was the Stone who couldn't wait to get back on the road. I am certain he would not want to admit to any current physical limitations that would prevent a future tour. I also believe Jagger will never throw Richards under the bus by saying - "If not for Keef, we'd be out there - he just can't do it any more."

Out of everyone, it seems Keith loves this band as strongly as he did 40 years ago...yet he's doing a good job of burning bridges with the one guy he needs to get the band active again...Jagger.

This is the very thing that has made me think that the Stones exists any longer just formally (in words and in abstract business contracts). The most shocking feature in LIFE was for me to realize that Keith Richards is not loyal to the band any longer. If we would he would never have published such tabloid-stuff gossips as he does there, and no to ridicule the guy who is the true leader of the band. It was just an ego play. it is not any longer "us", or The Stones, it is me and them, me and Mick. The band is not his prority any longer - it is just Keith Richards.

(after that it is up to the Big Guy - the one even bigger than Jagger).

ummm...Michael Cohl?

grinning smiley Could be but I believe that Cohl has joined the privileged club of Eric Easton, Andrew Loog Oldham, Allan Klein, Bill Graham, etc. that only interests Stones historians nowadays. Well, at least I wish he did...

But at 4 years old, I'm not sure Keith had quite developed his guitar chops. Certainly was years from developing the Open G, 5 string stylings.
