The 'Livin' la Vida Loca' video is gay? Guess I'm gay then.

Since this went the direction I thought it might, but hoped it would not, I didn't mean for this to be offensive. I was simply pointing out a reference to Stones-related music in a popular show using something the character said. End of Point.
this thread isn't offensive. there's no hatred going on here. no gay-bashing. we're just having a little fun, maybe some are feeling a bit uncomfortable with the topic. all it takes is one person to accuse people of "gay-bashing" for the fun to end. it's a pretty heavy accusation that shouldn't be thrown around lightly. again, there's no hatred being expressed here.

Exactly.

There was a scene in Sarah Silverman's show where she is talking with some people and says something is "gay". She turns to her two gay friends and says "I meant Gay as in really lame, not Gay as in homosexual". They both nodded and said "no problem". We can talk about gay videos without it being Gay-bashing.

I was actually banned on this site for a few days because someone here reported me for posting a Saturday Night Live sketch of Hannukah Harry. Never mind that I'm Jewish, as were most of the writers and performers in that sketch. Some people cannot laught at themselves, or anything else for that matter. I would quote Mick Jagger from the "Some Girls" lyrics controversary but I am afraid that would get me into more trouble with the Thought Police here.

Uber-gay or not, how I loved Bronski Beat and the Communards! Jimmy Somerville was incredibly talented.

I never understand how performers like that just fade away.

Watching Family Guy tonight, Peter Griffin said "1985 gave us the gayest music video of all time":

To call that video "the gayest music video of all time" - isnt that an understatement?

It IS uber-gay, and this was a very compelling song. My use of the term "gay" is neutral and descriptive, not pejorative in this case.

Doesn't the young male in that video look exactly like James Dean?! Swoon city. Love, love Pagey's solo on this one too.

He probably grabbed a shot-gun and shot the television set! Scarred for life.
