OT: Demis Roussos is dead

Mid-70s dinner parties in suburbia were not complete without a blast of the big man's Forever And Ever.

But he was also the singer in great Greek psych pop outfit Aphrodite's Child who released a bizarre yet compelling album called 666 in 1972.

This song is nothing short of mindblowing.

Greek singer Demis Roussos, who sold more than 60 million albums worldwide, has died aged 69, the Hygeia Hospital in Athens has confirmed to the BBC.

He was best known for his solo hits in the 1970s and 80s, including Forever and Ever, Goodbye and Quand je t'aime.

He was also a member of progressive rock group Aphrodite's Child.

Roussos was renowned for his off-screen role in Mike Leigh's 1977 TV play Abigail's party, having provided the party's soundtrack.

A remarkable singer, always a sentimental mood in his music.

RIP Demis Roussos.
He had an intriguing voice I knew his solo hitsingles and Rain and Tears.
This song I'd never heard. A trip indead. He peaked young and died too early.
