12 inch single in the sixties avaible

Hi all,

I just collected three 12 inch singles with the numbers DFEX 8560 (you better move on e.d.), DFEX 8620 (got live if you want it) and DFEX 8590 (5 by 5).

I understand that these are reissues from 1982.

My question is: were the orginal records as issued in the early sixties as 7 inch (EP) or also as 12 inch available?

Thanks,

Bunzing

If you mean were the 12 inch singles issued in the sixties then the answer is no.
They were issued in 1983.

The answer to your question is that they were in fact issued as 7" EPs in the 60s, but not 12".

They were reissued in the early 80s in both 7" and 12" format.

They were again reissued in the last few years for Record Store Day, in 7" format.

The first 12" came out in 1973, a disco song by Swamp Dogg called Straight From My Heart.
