THIN LIZZY - THE BOYS ARE BACK

9/18/2012

The surviving members of Thin Lizzy have done pretty well touring without their late singer-founder Phil Lynott, but now they're pushing the envelope -- by recording their first album without Lynott, who died of drug-related causes in 1986.

Guitarist Scott Gorham, who played alongside Lynott in Lizzy, tells Ireland's Hot Press that the band is heading to Los Angeles to work on the album. He says, “You have got six guys there that are chomping at the bit that can’t wait to get this thing going.” They'll preview some of the new material at a show in Dublin on December 13th.

Besides Gorham, this version of Thin Lizzy includes drummer Brian Downey, who co-founded the band.

Reminds me of when "Humble Pie" got back together and recorded a disc years after Steve Marriott died.

Your post infers that Brian was as important to the Stones as Phil was to Thin Lizzy. Absurd.

And incorrect. His post implies that 'Brian was as important to the Stones as Phil was to Thin Lizzy.'

I accept that Lizzy were just as entitled to carry on as AC/DC were but somehow this just seems wrong.

More channelling.

If only StonesTod was here we could have "Channelling" as the word of the day.

Excited for the new album The Killer Instinct. I love Ricky Warwick's solo albums! Listen to Love Many Trust Few.
