Beautiful spring day, heading out and thinking Aftermath (UK) and Revolver on the iPod. I'm in a '66 frame of mind, apparently.

2 fine choices, Juan. Enjoy!

Yeah, they stole the show.

Mick and Keith weren't bad and Bowie's "Heroes" was strong (among several). Macca's poor "Freedom" may be his worst song.

The Who's performance was also historic in that it was their final performance in the United States with John Entwistle. Listen to "Who Are You" from that night, and then listen to "Who Are You" from any gig they've played since then. No comparison. James Taylor's Fire And Rain was another highlight. It was almost eerie how closely the lyrics matched up to the events of 9/11.

New York has often brought out the best in the 'Oo, some of the June 1974 MSG shows notwithstanding.

Sibelius must be the only composer who could have played a Bond villain.

New York's had a love affair with the Who dating back 1967, and there's always seemed to be a disproportionally large number of Who fans living there. As recently as 1996 they were able to sell out a SIX night run at MSG. When I saw them in Detroit (another city that looms large in Who history) on that same tour, they played ONE night at the Palace and didn't even fill the place.

Schönberg would be a candidate too...

Bob Marley's Songs of freedom Comp. I find myself listening to "Natty Dread" a lot and the live version of I shot the sheriff. the backup vox are a bit much at first but that is such a cool funky version.
