Thanks a lot for your comments !
and this is what is so fantastic with IORR ! -
you get inputs and inspiration !
The Hoffman-thread, - did actually see it earlier, - perhaps latenite, -
redwine, - and never paid it real attention, -
but that let me to "Still Life", - made in West-Germany by Polydor -
Very interesting, - when talking Early CDs !
I use Discogs frequently, - but no help here on the actual case, -
BUT - was let to the subject "Target-CD" - and then to a fantastic list,
made by a Dutch guy, - Rudi, - (Earshot) -
and then it expanded.
What I thought was 4 CBS-titles, - Made in Japan, - for the European market,
suddenly grew to 16 titles, - probably ´84 - ´86 - when the Austrian plant
took over the European production.
Why is it always like that, - collecting The Stones !
Regarding the Sticky, - which I asked about, - maybe a similar thing
happened in the US, - although I haven´t been able to find any listing
about the subject ? Furthermore it seems a little odd, that NONE titles
appears in the Discogs-archive, - when, at least, - 4 of the European releases
does ! - ?
The only US-release, - Made in Japan, - I KNOW to exist, -
is "Rewind" - released 1984, - and the first Stones-album which had it´s
first-release in the CD-era, - and is NOT CK, - but RSR
The Hirsch-info, - Made in Japan, - Made by Disctronics -
I think can be neglected, - as Disctronics seems to be a plant, located
in Huntsville, Alabama !
The "Jeff56"-info from the Hoffman-thread, - Hmmm, -
Sticky Fingers, CK 40488, matrix CK 40488 1A1 73 Made in Japan, - sounds reliable, -
but requires, that the CK-serie was started up in Japan, - and from 1986
continued be manufactured in USA.
Still find it strange that no CK-titles, - Made in Japan - has appeared
in any listings ! - ?
Maybe I can ask all you collectors out there, to check your US-CK-releases,
- and see if some of them are Made in Japan !
Any feedback will be more than welcome !
A little quote to myself :
One logical explanation to a Japanese manufactured SF, - CK 40488, - would
be, - if the demanding for copies were so big, that Columbias own
pressing-plant couldn´t keep up, - so a quantum was ordered
from the Japanese plant . . . .
- in style and manner as the US-manuf. - and they added "Made in Japan" - on the CD
- Then our "Jeff56" would have a little gem in his collection, -
but basically I don´t believe in Japanese manufactured CK XXXXX CD´s !
I´m sure some of them would have popped up somewhere.
Anyway, - it´s not an "early CD" - it will have to be from 1986 -
at the earliest . . .
