According to Stanley Booth's book, 'Loving Cup' was also played and recorded during the Muscle Shoals sessions and this would explain why this song was copyrighted by ABKCO Records, initially.
He also writes that the song never sounded that well again.
I'm afraid we miss a true masterpiece, if so...

Yep . You are right. "Alternate Exile" is indeed the Montreux version.
Which of course is a live vocals take on the instrumental Exile track like LieB says.

I wonder if Nzentgraf has confused the Montreux singback as a studio take IV?
