Another monster hit for the Stones?

"Aadahl and van der Ryn recorded the shrieks coming from the Rolling Stones tour on the backlot of the Warner Brothers studio—shrieks complemented by the rumbles and roars of the Burbank cityscape."

Perhaps we will see a Godzilla sequel...."Godzilla vs. Gregory".

The point is that the when the Stones "invade" a city they take it over in dramatic fashion, much like Godzilla! The Stones are the Godzilla's of rock 'n roll! Breathing Fire in a blaze of glory!

To be honest, I think Godzilla fought King Kong a couple of times back in the 60s. Can't remember who won or if both bouts were voted Indecisions.

It's good to see Godzilla come out of retirement. He's a great actor.

I never saw the appeal of King Kong. Just a big hairy clumsy ape who's got nothin' on a giant radioactive lizard that's battled alien creatures and decimated Tokyo a dozen or so times.

In the New Yorker magazine review, Godzilla is compared to Mick and the monster's two cohorts are compared to Ronnie and Keith. Sadly, there's no Charlie in the movie.

'Godzilla' Stomps Us Senseless, and We Love It
Liz Smith

"ADVERSITY MAKES men, prosperity makes monsters," said Victor Hugo.

Well, in Hollywood, monsters make prosperity!

AS we all know, Godzilla decimated the box-office over the weekend, and even pulled in a lot of favorable reviews. Movies like this don't always depend on reviews, but positive critique is always welcomed. (And most Godzilla fanboys seem pleased with director Gareth Edwards effort.)

As an amused admirer of the original 1954 Godzilla and some of the other Japanese monster movies of the era -- The H-Man, Rodan, etc. -- 2014's re-tooling is a worthy addition to the genre. There is enough "story" to keep adults alert, and enough chaos and destruction to please children of all ages. (The poor Statue of Liberty is once again battered. That beautiful woman needs to ask for a restraining order!)

There wasn't quite enough of Bryan Cranston to please me, but what he did as an anguished scientist was memorable. And there was even less of the divine Juliett Binoche. But, let's face it, who were we really sitting in the theater for? The other actors know their lines and don't bump into the creatures.

I saw it in 2-D and it was just fine, Godzilla still seemed to leap out at me. Despite what we sometimes say, movies are still movies and monsters never die!

It's amazing how Godzilla has matured as an actor over the years. He kinda reminds me of Clint Eastwood in a way. I'm glad to see him back in Hollywood again. Hopefully, he will continue making movies.

However, I would like to see him different roles. I bet he would be a great Mrs Doubtfire!

Godzilla if you're reading this thread- Keep the Fire Burning!

Indeed. Maybe Godzilla can go out in a BLAZE OF GLORY and top the Beatles once and for all!

The Beatles fire went out 44 years ago, but we must give them some credit. The smoke from that fire still lingers to this day. I admire and respect them, even love them, but "quitters" don't deserve the title of "Greatest Of All Time."

The stones quit in mid 80's, it was just never officially anounced as such.

I suspect that King Kong is still alive. It was only movie that suggested his death from Empire State Building Fiasco was just for entertainment purposes only.

By the way, it is rumored that King Kong & Godzilla are actually friends and have cookouts together.

Godzilla always get the grill charcoal started. Of course, Kong brings over good looking babes.

Don't be surprised if Godzilla & Kong do Book tour together. I just hope my signed Biography is not charred beyond readability.
