Wasn't Charlie replaced by Ginger Baker after Charlie joined The Stones? I think he was.
I think you may be correct..I found this from a January 2013 interview ...
""If truth be known," he continues, "I was the Stones' first drummer. We used to do the interval for Alexis Korner with Mick Jagger, who was like Korner's protege, and Brian Jones. I got on very well with Brian, so we formed a band. Then Charlie [Watts] left Alexis Korner so I could join, and I got Charlie into the Stones. But it was Brian who set the Stones on its path."
but its contradictory, because it means, to me, he was playing with Korner, and the future Stones would sit in..but what he means is he joined up with Korner, so Charlie could quit and go with the Stones who wanted him and were getting more work..?
I wouldn't be relying too much on Ginger's recollections personally. Refer the fairly recent doco Beware of Mr Baker where he comes across as bitter and twisted about just about everything
Come on, it's not his native language. Did any native speaker open this thread seriously expecting to be informed of a reunion 52 years ago?
