Mick (Jagger, that is) also played bass guitar on a few songs from A Bigger Bang.

Jagger could, instead of surrounding himself with high-class studio hacks that only make him sound sterile, just make a solo album by playing all the instruments himself. That would surprise quite a lot of people - "can that prick actually play and not just show his thick lips, move his ass, shout and make scandals?".

Jagger is by no means any technically skilled player in any instrument - not even in harp, even though Keith and us Stones hardcore fans keep thinking so - but he has that natural pragmatic touch in his delivery which serves the songs nicely. He keeps the wholeness in hand, and understands how to get the thing across. Even the primitive Robert Johnson stuff he does in PERFORMANCE is capturing in its on terms. Some people just had that ability to make everything sound meaningful.

Rudimentary piano ...but effective..and a decent rhythm guitar player.. excellent harmonica .. Then there's all the percussion. Probably his main musical talent after singing is as an arranger ..

Once you get a feel and touch on one instrument you can, with a little practice, just about play anything well enough to make your own music.

Especially in a studio where you can make lots of mistakes and fix things.

Also add to the case that, especially in Mick's case, if you're writing the song yourself, you'll most likely end up writing parts you can play yourself. I myself am not much of a keyboardist or drummer when it comes to playing other peoples songs but regularly play more than acceptable traks on songs I've written myself. Note His Majesty is 100% correct re: being in the studio.

As a photographer myself I think in terms of images. None of these are mine (I haven't figured how to post mine yet) and therefore I do not hold any rights to them, but share them only for other fans to enjoy.

He is a quite good rhythm guitarist both on acoustic (Sister Morphine live on MTV) and on electric guitar (Fingerprint File). Also he did some nice slide work on the tour 2005 (Back of my Hand).

The stones bought one and Mick was given some basic tuition on patches etc. Bill say's Mick just gave up on the thing. It's last seen in stones land circa 1970 at Stargroves.

This was supposedly done by Mick, pretty awful. This was filmed inside Robert Fraser's 2nd flat at Mount Street, the same place where Keith wrote the basics of Gimme Shelter, You Got The Silver etc.
