Paris Photo Exhibit - Question About Photo

I was wandering around Le Marais neighborhood of Paris about a week ago and literally walked right into a huge exhibition of Stones photos (which was a delightful surprise, and entrance was free!). There were many photos I have never seen before. One in particular struck me as curious: A performance photo from 1967 or '68 showing Keith with Bill's Wyman bass. (unfortunately I can't locate the photo to show here). Does anyone know why Keith would be playing bass in a live situation in 1967? Id so, what was Bill doing at the time? Wish I could have jotted down more details about the photo while I was there, but was unable to.

It was one of these photographs?

No, it's earlier, and he's clearly playing a Vox teardrop-shaped bass. It pre-dates R&R Circus.

It's probably from when they appeared on Eamonn Andrews show, Keith messed about on bass in between takes of She Smiled Sweetly.
