Eddie Vedder is starting to resemble Bill Murray--which could be a good thing, but only if you are Bill Murray.

I think she should be a guest star on the next tour...better than some they've had.

Good Lord. I can hear the Chardonnay glasses tinkling, followed by ""Let's put on Nevermind when we get home."

"Julie Andrews" does Shattered . . .

A friend alerted me to this on Facebook. It is hideous. I can't even find the humor in it, and I am generally ok with folks who make fun of the Stones or the music I listen to. But jeez, Eddie Vedder, man, I would like to think he would not crucify a great song for a laugh like this... ?? I dunno, maybe I am not being fair and should lighten up, but..... ugh. Thumbs down.

I have no problem with the song (or the Stones) being made fun of, but it's lame bordering on embarrassing.

Eddie knows the chords for sure.

Funny idea.

Somebody posted this about a week or two ago, I think it's pretty funny myself. But maybe as a Pearl Jam fan I'm biased. I think it would have been funnier if they'd kept it shorter, because after the novelty of Jeanne's impression wears off it kind of stops being funny and I just sort of wish Eddie would do a proper cover instead of a comedy/parody cover with "Julie Andrews".

I like Pearl Jam's sort of comical cover of Beast Of Burden. It's kind of a mess but it was an improv, it wasn't rehearsed or anything.

First Shattered cover I've ever seen/heard, actually, and amusing enough. (I didn't know Jeanne Tripplehorn could sing, either.)

Incidentally, I read that Julie Andrews and Mick Jagger were once next-door neighbors in Chelsea.

I have always laughed at how Wedder sings. Pretentious.

I did, but only because I happened to watch this sketch comedy show back in the 90's called "Mr. Show with Bob And David" (Bob Oedenkirk and David Cross) and they did this parody of Jesus Christ Superstar and she had a little singing cameo in it.

I think it's sweet. It's for a good cause. Clearly they are reverent to the source material while being cheeky. All in good fun. Thumbs up from me.

Two thumbs up from me. I wonder if they take requests... I'd love to hear "Julie Andrews" in a similar setting doing, say, Satisfaction, StarStar, Respectable, 19th Nervous, Mother's Little Helper, Bitch... You know, anything that "Julie" SHOULDN'T be singing, I'd enjoy hearing.

Peace,
Mr DJA

what i laughed at -and i know many of you were around in the 1990's- was the absolute arrogance of that alt-rock/grunge crowd when that music was at the height of its popularity.

"you listen to ....the rolling stones???" as they looked down their noses at you.

i'm only reminded of this because i heard the comedian greg fitzsimmons say on the radio the other day -

" i saw the stones on their 50th tour, they are so great.i remember my friends laughing at me about listening to them in the 90's.now i tell them- i saw the stones the other day,by the way how are [and he made it sound real sacastic]the screaming trees doing?"
