One off showing tomorrow night Tuesday 3rd December 20.15 at the Glasgow Film Theatre. Director Donald Cammell was Scottish and therefore the film was recently named by critic as the greatest Scottish movie! Bizarre in my opinion.

I'm not familiar with Scottish movies, but my vote goes to Trainspotting--at least it has the right accent for it.





Because the director is Scottish that makes it a Scottish film? That's like saying that just because Prince Rupert was their business manager it makes The Stones Bavarian royalty.

No, it would be like saying the stones are English due to Mick and Keith being English.

Of course it's silly to say it's a Scottish film, but it is very much a Donald Cammell creation and he was Scottish.

I think the BFI also rated it as one of the best British films some time ago.

Performance is a great film. For some reason, I thought Cammell was an American.

Not sure about finest, but 'Gregory's Girl' is worth a shout. I defy anyone not to have their cockles warmed by that gem!
