I know this is an old subject, but it never ceases to amaze me. I swear he looks like he's gained four inches in height. Anybody met him before and after, up close enough to judge his height?

I have stayed beside Mick and will guess about 1,75 meter without shoes.
Keith is about 1.77m and Ronnie is shorter.
Never met Charlie but I guess he is the highest of them

I think Charlie is the shortest and they all are,including Bill Wyman, short guys.They don't give a damn about it as a lot of the worlds most talented and wealthy people are about their size.I know I am biased as I am about the same size and build as The Stones but obviously without the talent and the dosh.

That yahoo news link I posted is just for the picture. I'm too dumb to figure out how to just post the picture apparently. The top of Keith's head is right at Mick's nose. A few years ago they were about the same height. It just amazes me. His shoes don't look that tall. Maybe a two inch sole and an equal size lifter inside the shoe.

I don't know about Mick but I was at a book signing Bill did when 'Rolling With The Stones' came out , Bill walked past me when he left I'm 5'8" (173) I'd guess Bill is 5'6" (167.6) at the most.

they are not standard nike air max, i saw a pic of mick with nikes on walking next to his tall girlfriend and they had to be custom made they were almost 3 inches thick they looked ridiculous

I don't think that he is 1.75 m, rather between 1.72-1.74 m. By the way, one feet is approx 30.5 cm (0.35 m). I don't know why the Brits and Americans have stayed with old measure systems.

In the late '70's, there was a bit of a push under Carter to make things more metric system friendly in the States, but it all went by the wayside once Reagan took over.

I believe the topic subject ("How much taller" ...) would need to be adjusted, to read like "How much height gains Mick by ..." or similar,

because none of our beloved Stones is (or was) what one would in normal terms refer to as "tall".

I remember there have been threads on this subject before, and, if I recollect correctly, the result was that they all were resp. are around 5" 7' which equals to about 170 cm.

In this context, it might be taken into consideration that at increasing age a person is subject to a certain shrinking process. Any physician among us, who can tell how much in height the boys may have lost since their prime?

Looking at the below pic, I would say, they all come to about the same height, Mick being a bit "taller" due to his custom Nikes, and Scorcese obviously far shorter than the boys.

PS: Adding to current breaking Stones gossip, it should be borne in mind that according to numerous scientific studies there is definitely no correlation between a man's height and the size of his todger.

Not that rare - old people shrink. MJ's is probably countered by 30-40 years of yoga-like stretching... stretching/yoga lengthens the spine and actually makes you taller. Also probably has better posture than the others. The shoes probably do contribute to a height difference - I'm only saying they're standard Nike's.
