the last time you started a thread like this (i think it was 36 hours ago?) i posted saying i'd like to see them do a covers album, since the last 35 years have convinced me that they're through as original song writers.

but i am being serious when i say you should be clear that you want an album of newly recorded tracks, otherwise they might fulfill your request by issuing another greatest hits album. (reference contracts with: decca records, atlantic records, columbia records, etc....)

I'd love a new album. It's a shame Doom & Gloom was wasted on GRRR. It would have made a great lead single. I didn't like One More Shot at first, but now I like it a lot, and I'm sure Keith and Steve Jordan have plenty of groovy tracks in the can from their sessions last year. Mick says he has plenty of tracks, and Ronnie's last album was great - get him involved!

I love ABB, so I'd settle for something similar, maybe without the brick wall production and a few touches of Bobby's sax here and there.

I agree... Dig down deep, give us new rocknroll.

However, it is NOT going to happen. The band apparently doesn't want to, can't or wont dig out many gems on the current tour. This is not a band taking risks, they are simply holding steady and ending on a high note, as best as we can tell. I am THRILLED that they are doing this tour (aside from price + setlist). If they drastically change the setlist I think it would be a good indication that they are feeling revved up for something more.

Dear Mick, Keith, Charlie and Ronnie.

I know Mick said fans didn't like BB much, but that is not true for me. I loved it.
I would love a new album.
There is no such thing as a new album not being appreciated by the fan base.

Can we request a silly album? Like songs with false starts and bum notes? That way, when they mess up in concert it will be okay, because it will be that way on the new album.

Drake hit the nail on the head as usual. Give us some low down dirty blues/roots music. Use MT, bring the guitars to the front of the mix, make it high high energy and try to give it a warm overall tone. The guitars have sounded so thin as of late and ABB was compressed or something. Very nasally. I think the Stones are absolutely capable of a GREAT album of new stuff. They just need to do it in a way where they don't care of its a hit or not. Chances are if they do all of this it will be.

Have you seen them this year yet? Those guitars didnt sound thin at all to me in the arena. Sometimes the reproductions make them sound thin but in the show they are loud and nasty.
