OT: Bass Care in Winter

I'm looking for advice/tips on how to protect my bass from adverse temperature changes.
I've recently moved back to Uni and the house is a lot colder than my home, plus the heating is only on for a few hours a day. I have a hard case for my bass but are there any other tips? I want my bass to last the winter.
