Who Is The Bass Player

I posted this on Rocksoff but had no luck. Forgive my ignorance but who is the bass player playing with Slim Chance here? The late great Ronnie Lane was an underrated genius.

You've answered your own question. That's Ronnie Lane in Slim Chance, mid-70s.

Um, he is playing a guitar, not the bass guitar in this performance.

The credits at the end of the video list a "chris stewart" and they did have a bass player by that name in the first incarnation of the band.

Bios for Slim Chance also mention that Chris Stewart left the original line-up in 1974 to join Joe Cocker (and The Grease Band), so this must be the name of the mystery bassist.

Joe Cocker and The Grease Band, 1975.

Bass player is Nigerian musician Biddy Wright. Ronnie Lane produced his band Akido's 1972 album.

He joined Slim Chance following Chrissie Stewart's departure.

Bass player is Nigerian musician Biddy White. Ronnie Lane produced his band Akido's 1972 album.

He joined Slim Chance following Chrissie Stewart's departure.

You are almost "Wright".... Fault the BBC who credits Stewart instead.

Disenchanted with the effect Rod the Mod's growing idol status exerted upon the band's musical direction, Lane quit The Faces in 1973 and formed the country-rock outfit Slim Chance, in which Wright played bass.

(Many Ronnie Lane fan histories erroneously refer to the musician who replaced original Slim Chance bassist Chrissie Stewart as "Buddy Wright" or "Buddy White," but that is indeed Biddy Wright on Lane's
Anymore for Anymore album even though he does not appear in the band photos.)
