WERE YOU AT STAPLES OR OAKLAND? DID YOU GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH?

So many posters are judging the first two concerts by videos only.
Were you at Staples or Oakland shows? Did you get your money's worth?

Great set list in Oakland. Love the loud and excellent guitar sound. Played intense and hard. Had a wonderful time.

Yes, not only did I get great entertainment for my money, I'll do it every chance I can. They are ripping it up!!! Thank you Rolling Stones!

Because of the steep price tag of the ticket my opinion is people who have seen them before would say "no" they didn't get their money's worth.... while people who've never seen them before would say "yes" they got their money's worth.

Don't speak for those you don't know.

I have seen the Rolling Stones many times over the past 44 years and I definity got my money's worth at the Staples show.

No complaints from me for what I spent to get in at Staples. Only problem I had
was the Taylor - one number... and the warhorses at the end (JJF, Satisfaction)
other than that - Stones show well worth $100 - don't know if I would go any higher than that, but probably would, if i had just hit the Lottery....

Sure. I'm not really a whiner myself, but you've got to root for the underdog.

I was at Oakland last night. I got my money's worth indeed. It is hard to believe that these guys are pushing, at, or over 70.

Mick Jagger is the ultimate performer, and IMO, keeps getting better. I enjoy his vocals now more than ever.

This was the best show I've seen.....since I last saw The Stones. Well worth every penny.

Stonehearted, not really a thread for elitists.
Simple, yeah I got my money's worth or "I feel ripped off."

I wasn't actually being serious.

Besides, what's wrong with an elitist thread or two? We don't have the luxury of outrageous ticket prices for logging on, so you've got to keep the riff-raff at bay somehow.

Good point! Did ya see the thread about "no standing" while the band is playing.
Is it elitist to like to dance?

This hurts me.

I really count on posters like you being serious so that I can reply properly.

Damn. I'm just trying to conquer or rule over the riff raff too y'know

No, and I just can't understand it. I was at a Who concert a while back, just standing and swaying to the music, happy in my own little world--until an usher came over and told me to sit down because some people in some other row behind me (who were a bit higher up as well) complained. I'm not even tall [only 5' 8"] and this was way back in the loge, so it wasn't like I was blocking anyone's view--all you could see from that distance was the video screen anyway, which not even a 10 foot tall person could block the view of. This is the problem with stuffy corporate venues--it's like being back in school.

Sitting through a rock concert is so not rock n roll. People who want to sit down through concerts should go see a classical symphony or piano concerto concert instead.

Now, there's an idea. If bv just charged by the post we could cut through the crap here in no time.

Did $600 seats at Staples, Pit package at Oakland. Oakland was an amazing show, and for me, i got my money's worth. But in my case, I fly 10 hours to get to a show in the US and have to coordinate it with business trips, work demands, family, etc. So, it was well worth $1500 for me. Would it be worth it if I didn't have as much savings, but had the time to travel from town to town -
when 1500 bucks could get you a seat to every show on the tour if you buy the 85 dollar tix? Hard to say.

Paid $600 (hey,it was my birthday, I deserved to splurge) I loved my seat and loved the show. It was worth every penny...I was rubbing elbows with Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman, L'Wren Scott and Jack Nicholson who were just across the aisle from me. Good times, in fact, my best birthday celebration ever! Oh yeah, and I've been going to their shows every tour since 1975 and have a ticket for the Honda Center on the 18th!

No, it was $85, but I was sitting in the $600 section, and most of them I'm sure felt they got their money's worth, or more even, because they left before the encore.

We can all say our two cents' worth (or two pennyworth for us Londoners). But if bv charges by the word, Doxa is going to be in trouble.
