O/T Edwyn Collins at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Saturday 20th April 2013

Hello,

When I heard that E.C. was playing a few shows to push his latest album ('Understated') then I wanted to be in that number: he is a quality artist. I recommend his previous effort ('Losing Sleep') heartily.

A standing ovation is his even before he has been able to perch himself on his Peavey speaker: this may sound like a patronising gesture from the audience but it really is the case that people are just glad that Edwyn is still around and still able to produce fantastic music and still enjoys the stage, certainly going by his between-song banter. Oh yeah, he also has his son (William) onstage with him too- see the fourth photo down.

It may be a rotten cliche especially when you consider all that E.C. has gone through, but he is a life-affirming performer. More power to him!

Cheers,

Simon.

A Girl Like You is one of the best singles ever released IMO. His work with Orange Juice is highly recommended and if you like eighties guitar power pop this box is a must have:
