OT: Suzanne Vega in bulletproof vest at Glastonbury 1989....
In 1989, U.S. folk-pop singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega became the first female artist to headline the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury, playing before her largest audience ever--while wearing a bulletproof vest. There had been death threats directed at her and her bass player, Mike Visceglia, which resulted in bringing the presence of Scotland Yard to the festival.
Vega recently told her story for The Moth, a U.S.-based non-profit organization devoted to the art of live storytelling, where people tell true and unusual stories before a live audience.
