It happens when you use unsupported characters - I guess.

This usually only happens to me when I copy and paste text from a website which embeds things within the text.

I can usually get around it (if I care enough) by first copy/pasting the text into a "text document", then saving the document (and at that point the computer usually informs me that data will be lost if I save it.... which is the idea, lose the ill-acting data)... then after saving the document, I close it.... then reopen it and then it copy and paste to IORR with no problem.... usually... if I care enough.

Ok then the problems is that some extended ASCII characters doesn't work, using one of them you will get the error

Remember that part of the character support is due to your PC and browser setup. Check the character encoding is set to Unicode = UTF-8, which is the recommended encoding when you write text in English, it will also support characters like æøåö'e and so on... If you have trouble then copy&paste text via notepad, then it is "cleaner"...

did you quote someone?
did you copy and paste something from the web?
or... did you write something yourself when you got the error? what was it?

also, try to write alt + 14 which should display a musical note and tell us if that results in an error.

I had this the other week. I can't remember if I just closed the browser or rebooted but it went away.

1. That particular thread
2. Something specific you are trying to post

Try this:

Post just a single normal test or character, like x ...
Then Edit Post - and change the "x" into something else
