Hi colonial and Green Lady - fortunately for us,we are only cut off by the waters( we're only 4kms out of Rockhampton not 10 as I said earlier).Cannot believe what we are seeing on the news,water is starting to inundate the outskirts of our small town.The little lady is starting to wish I could go back to work,but that might not be for a week or so - the goal is to convert her into a stones fan,and Im doin my best! Cheers

No kidding. Snakes,frogs,mice,ants. It's like a plague. Well they did say the floods were of bibilical proportions. I guess they were'nt kidding.

There are snakes everywhere in the water - both types - the ones seeking dry ground, and the other tpye that drive around in their tinnies at night looting other peoples abandond houses. As Charlie Pride once sang -" the snakes crawl at night".Along with a few herds of cows that couldnt make it to higher ground.Not good seeing 20-30 dead animals going by.

Hi Rockman,mate what Rockhampton has gone through( still going through - we are still cut off)is nothing compared to Toowoomba.Absolutely terrible - 8 deaths so far and expected to rise further - they are now concerned about Brisbane later today with some 30 suburbs being warned to expect some sort of flooding.Hope all is well down in Victoria - cheers.

It is heartbreaking what is happening in Toowoomba right now. Just read about a mother & two sons trapped in a car, one boy was rescued, tragically the mother and other son were swept away and killed. It is absolutely awful... Entire houses swept away... 72 people missing...

How's Cairns doing my Aussie friends? Love that area - Green and/or Lizard island - had a lot of fun times up there...

Hi colonial, while I have heard rumors of crocs being peoples back yards,Im not sure if it is true - at the same time I woouldnt be surprised if it was the case.The Fitzroy has some bloody big crocs in it and over the years have taken many people attempting to swim across it.Cheers mate.

Thanks buddy. I'm in north Brisbane very near the Pine River. Should be OK but will be watching the king tide tonight. Just seen kangaroos being swept down the river towards the ocean.

Theyre expecting a bigger one than 74 - along with a bigger king tide tommorrow.

It now covers an area bigger than France and Germany combined. In the mid area of my State, Carnarvon is totally devastated. This is on the west coast just 900 Km North of where I am, yet we are haveing high temps and bushfires and dry as a bone. Go figure. The floods in the east coast are getting worse, what the hell is going on. 12 months ago people were getting burnt to death.
