Big deal.

I once walked home without my trousers.

I have walked home legless many times.

(Sorry, couldn't resist!)

I once slept in a telephone box all night and didn't go home.

(A different night to the trousers night).

I've never been home.

I didn't even know the NME still existed. I figured the performance part of it quit after 1968. Did they continue having bands play? Do they still do that?

Until this very moment I hadn't even heard the word 'home'.

Is that how you spell it?

Yes, bands still perform, but the event is more of an awards show than a concert, today. Think MTV Awards, etc.

I looked NME up on Wikipedia and apparently it had a rebirth. I always thought of it as a 60s happening. In the heady days of early 70s Atlanta I remember you would see imported copies of Melody Maker. That seems to have been the go to rock music newspaper at the time, with extra attention on the Brit groups. Melody Maker out-hipped Rolling Stone at the time. I see (from Wikepedia) that it merged with NME.

I enjoy MOJO now as the best music magazine. They seem to be pretty no-nonsense. They don't have a cheesy awards show either.

Me and a friend of mine walked down the Empire State Building once. That's a much bigger accomplishment.

I'd have agreed if you walked up.

I'd be waiving your flag if you scaled the outside of the building.

I'm sure there are people who walked up it but walking down was hard enough for me. Gravity is working in your favor as opposed to walking up but still it's nearly a hundred flights of stairs.

Walking down is harder on the knees!

Brings to mind the Washington Monument, but you want to be careful about bragging about climbing up and down that one around here - a lot of dopey men love to seize on that line. The Washington Monument is the subject of many jokes here in the DC area, as it looks like a giant pencil, or something else...there used to a card that all the guys loved with a picture of the monument and "Missing You" written underneath. I'm sure Mick would love that card. grinning smiley
