If the arrangement and money is good enough, I guess he will.
Not celebrating the 50-years anniversary sounds unlikely.
And there are rumors about Keith getting treatment for his fingers arthritis and has scaled quite much down on smoking/drinking.

Keith gave an interview to this paper around the time they were publishing his autobiography and he was asked about his relationship with MJ and he gave the remark:" We are looking forward to next June when we will be touring together!"

The Stones will go down as one of the biggest entertainment stories of the past 100 years. Beatles, Bing Crosby, Elvis, Sinatra and maybe a few others, but that is it. They were white hot from the mod 60's to the mid 80's, and then enjoyed the nostalgia game for 20 years afer that. A mind-boggling run.

Today they are irrelevant. A vital part of history, of course. But a meaningful, productive band? No way. I am 47 and the music my 13 year old listens to is utterly foreign to me. And people her age dictate the market. People my age have no say, save for the rabid fans on thsi board.

The Stones aren't touring because they can't. People wouldn't pay to see them anymore.

I bought new Rolling Stones music as a 13-year-old, well into their "nostalgia game" in the '90s. It was utterly foreign to my parents. I didn't dictate the market, unfortunately, but I could choose to listen to whatever I wanted, and I wanted something better than what was generally popular at the time.

13-year-olds don't dictate the market for concert tours because they can't come up with $150 for a ticket. The only thing that may have changed in the last 3-4 years with the Stones is that they might not be able to play any more. But people will pay...

A friend of mine told me he saw Keith on TV having trouble putting on his Jacket due to his Arthritis.
Must be a nightmare for him (and any guitarplayer) not to be able to play the guitar anymore. With or without the Stones.
Let's hope they can do something about it.

Didnt say it did. The question asked why people 'assume' they'll tour. Its a natural discussion when band members have stated that they intend to, I would have thought.

As a business aren't they are required to hold an annual meeting? They could easily have agreed to go into the studio at some point this year, then tour the following 2 years (2012-2013).
