PLEASE NOTE--THIS IS NOT MY EVENT--I'm not Richie Unterberger--I'm a female who lives in San Francisco who's attending this event b/c it looks cool--I posted about this event thinking other Bay Area iorrers might be into going, and maybe grab a snack or drink before/after. [I'm saying this because someone from iorr just emailed me helpful hints about improving attendance at "my" event smiling smiley ]

My guess--between you and me, and all of iorr, and the internet--is for the casual fan,
the content will be "rare," and for fanatics and obsessives it will be familiar turf, tho
still really fun to watch in one sitting.

I'll find out & report back

Heads-up on the parking. Tight in that neighborhood so give yourself time if you're going and aren't familiar with parking in The Haight.

update--Richie Unterbegrer sez: "I don't want the songs and sources posted. These
are taken from TV shows and promo films for the most part, along with one newsreel. Very
little of it, if any, is on official DVD (I haven't seen "Crossfire Hurricane," which comes
out Tuesday, and can't say whether it has any of the same material)."

So, in other words...who knows? Many of us here seem to have seen almost everything
that's not "on official DVD." However, I continue to be surprised, and --for me, being in SF--
it will simply be a joy to watch 2 hours of Stones clips!

BTW, my wife and I are at the Little Shamrock Pub every Friday at 9 PM.
If anyone is in the area, stop on by. 9th Ave and Lincoln.

REPORTBACK

The event at the Haight Ashbury Library was standing room only--the room was set up for 100,but the crowd
was closer to 150--every seat was occupied, and every inch of wall space taken. There were a fair number
of people in their early to late 20s, a handful of people in their 30s to early 40s, a fair number in mid-40s
to mid-50s, and a bunch in their late 50s, 60s, and even some in their 70s. A good time was had by all.
Tho, it was interesting to me what some of the 20-somethings laughed at---they didn't seem to know how
to interpretwhat they were seeing with Ruby Tuesday, for example, and many laughed the whole way through.

It was a pleasure to see 2 hours of Rolling Stones clips. I'd seen 90% of them, but it was great to see even
the familiar ones on the big screen.

sweetcharmedlife---didn't see you confused smiley

Hey swiss. I was there. Sitting in the back. I think I was the only one who actually had on a Rolling Stones shirt. I looked for you,but with only a vague description to go on. Didn't want to start going up to every short blonde in the room.confused smiley.......But the event was really cool. Great old clips. Never really seen much of the early Brian Jones footage. Good stuff.May have to go back for the British Invasion show he's doing in March.

hi SCL---so glad you made it and enjoyed! we should have ccordinated better--maybe for the British Invasion event smiling smiley I came in 3 minutes late, walked to the back of the room, and around to the other side, and sat up high on a bookshelf. I spent a lot of the event scanning the room for anyone who might be also scanning the room for someone, and at the end almost called out: "sweetcharmedlife!" but didn't quite have the nerve--so went overto Richie Unterberger and talked to him, thinking you'd have to pass by. There may be other blonds, but my hair is pretty distinctively a blond mop, btw. ps 5'4" isn't "short"!!! winking smiley

What was the quality of the Arthur Haynes footage? I've got it on boot in fairly poor shape.
