Why did the Stones film a video for "Doom and Gloom" and never release it?

We know that this video exists because they showed a small clip of it last week to open Monday Night Football, but they never decided to release it. Not even on their offical website.

Am I missing something?

Maybe morale was too low. Why even bother? We're all f**ked anyway ;-)

You're forgetting how The Stones operate. You have to wait for the GRRR! DVD: 48 classic promos plus the vids for the two new songs.

Well, the "lyric video" has by far the most views of the videos on the Stones official youtube channel with 4.5 million views. So, perhaps they felt it was better than a live shot?

It's like ROCK 'N' ROLL CIRCUS. It'll be decades before we see it.

(Probably it's in post-production and/or they're still hawking it to markets they hope will show it, and such.)

They look too old.

There's no hiding it any more.

Less is more.

Same for Crossfire Hurricane.

yeah man they still look cool and still are the best f...in rock,n roll band in this f...in amazin world. If i was the stones i,d celebrate this 50th anniversary with all the energy i,d still have and play all of my fast tempo songs then i'd settlle down for some country rock songs with rather slow pace and tempo like they did in many occasions on some of their albums. But that,s only what i,d be doing if i was close to 70 spin around the sun.
