re "Some Girls" have YOU been to "Zuma Beach"?

Any thoughts on your visit to Zuma Beach?

I've been going to Zuma since I was a tiny child.

It was serene and peaceful...then.

If ProudMary should appear in California, I will will give her the grand tour of Los Angeles including Zuma Beach.

Wow, that's nice!
If the Stones are going to play in LA next year I'll do my best to come

Been to Zuma plenty when I lived in Topanga canyon. I liked Leo Carillo beach a bit more since the windsufing was better.

I was one of the sails you probably saw on the water in the mid-eighties when there were only 2 or 3 of us. I imagine the place has changed a bit since those days. peace

Proudmary,LA is definitely one of the best cities to hear the Stones really put out. Great audiences.

I know LA like the back of my hand. Not necessarily my favorite city to live in these days but a great place to visit especially with a good guide such as my humble self.

I agree...Malibu is heaven on earth... I live up the coast about 3 hours, another heaven but not as warm...and nowhere near the amount of bikinis.

Life is good.

I wish I had some better memories of LA. I spent some time working there and never got to see much beyond the hotel and the only other time I've been there, someone tried to break into our motel room in the middle of the night. Luckily, I woke up and yelled at the guy and he ran off. I hope to return someday and see more of the state, I do hear the beaches are beautiful.

latebloomer, the way to enjoy the beaches is between 9AM and noon Monday through Friday. Otherwise, even Zuma is a zoo much of the time.

Definitely work gets in the way during the week. I can just imagine how hellish it must have been for you in LA previously.

Santa Barbara is a great place for a beach getaway. Or little Carpenteria just south of Santa Barbara.

"Three miles up the coast" is mighty fine, too.

Beach Beach Road in Zuma has the highest concentration of the top movie stars anywhere on Earth. Not that Malibu doesn't have them in droves, but Zuma has Dustin Hoffman, Redford, etc.

Thanks for the beach tips, stonesrule. I had friends years ago that used to travel with the White House press when Reagan was president. Everyone used to fight like crazy to get picked to do Reagan's vacation trips, and it was because they all wanted to go to Santa Barbara, where he had a place.

Unfortunately the experience in LA was not the only time, I seem to be a magnet for muggings, I even got robbed at gunpoint in Colombus, Ohio of all places. It's one of the reasons I'm a little nervous about making my way around Newark for the Stones concert. I think I must have a sign on my back that says "rob this lady."

I'd be terrified to be mugged...anywhere.

You definitely need to be with several people tightly together when you go to Newark.
