Well i knew they did it but had never seen it so i thought i'd link it on here in case it was new to anyone else. Has this been around awhile? Always great to see a 'new' clip. Thanks to the uploader.

Bill is positively dancing in that video. I can't recall ever seeing him move that much.

An oddly mixed alternative backing track.

Thank you for posting this. Another one I thought I'd never live to see.

Great! Never seen that. It's funny the Stones clips that pop up ad nauseum, and then a little gem like this I've never before seen.

Charlie actually looks extroverted at 2:56 (and elsewhere). He must have put an extra lump of sugar in his tea that morning.

At around 2:00 different lyrics start with "Strolling on the boulevards of Paris..."

Any deciphering of the rest of these "new" lyrics would be welcome.

Smokin'! This was shot on July 3rd, right? Mick's voice does sound shot... and I'm sure the events of the previous night did not help matters in that department.

I hate the miming.. No need for it back then. Can someone rationalize it? Why did the Stones put up with it? Why play along?

I strolled on the boulevards of paris
as naked as the day that I will die
the sailors they're so charming there in Paris
but I just can't seem to sail you off my mind

Damn, I thought he is going to fell down or something when I first saw that 'dance'...grinning smiley

I don't know if any truth but to me it looks like the whole band is on some chemicals or something... but good vibe they seem to have!

What's interesting about Richards being the coolest rock star - at the time in question - that's it, the end of the 60's and all the 70's - no one thought of him as such. The title surprisingly came to him retroactively while in real time (almost) no one noticed Richards next to Jagger

Same verse on YA-YA'S and LOVE YOU LIVE instead of the divorcee in NYC. Also heard on the bootlegged studio outtake from 1969.

I definitely noticed Richards too. In all their miming appearances, Keith always cracks up at some point. It must have been pretty ridiculous for all of them.

Mick Taylor -- the worst guitar mimer in the world. Maybe he wasn't allowed to play as much rhythm guitar as he wanted when plugged in.

Seriously why is everyone fawning over this clip? Its my favorite band miming like it was 1964. What the crap? I happen to think that seeing ANY band miming to a backing track is just plain pitiful. Why have Jagger live and everyone else faking it? Why not just rock the track out??

Stop drinking the coolaid!

From [www.nzentgraf.de]
16th June: US TV ( )
'The David Frost Show', Wembley.
- You Can't Always Get What You Want (MJ/KR) -live vocals on prepared backing track
- Honky Tonk Women (MJ/KR) -live vocals on prepared backing track
- interview with MJ by David Frost

Ah, right - I was thinking of this:

690703A 3rd July: UK TV (BBC) 'Top Of The Pops' , London, BBC Studio G.
- Honky Tonk Women 1 (MJ/KR) -probably live vocals on a prepared backing track
- Honky Tonk Women 2 (MJ/KR) -probably live vocals on a prepared backing track

Because it is footage of THE ROLLING STONES IN NINETEEN SIXTY-NINE!!

Miming or not, there they are, at the top of their game, young and LIVE-R Than You (or I ) Will Ever Be!

Even if they are miming.

Whilst its always nice to view vintage 60's TV appearances, this is ropey. Poor posing, poor backing-track - and Jagger far from his best. The Top Of The Pops miming fromtbr same year is far better.

Because the footage of HTW from David Frost show has not been in wider circulation before. Only the audio. Wonder who decided to share their video?

Great to finally see this, it's a piece of history
