If you could ask Mick or Keith just one question...
Posted by: punkfloyd ()

...what would it be? I'm certain this has been posted before, but now that the band is at 50 years what would you ask?

(Please resist temptation to rip GRRR! cover).

I'm torn between asking Mick, "Was the solo career worth it?" or "At what point were you most ready to call it quits and leave the band."

What was "World War III" really about ?

His answer to your first question would be "Why not?"
Your second question should be "At what point were you most ready to continue?"

In UNDER THEIR THUMB Bill German relates an interview he did with Bill Wyman for "Beggar's Banquet" in which Wyman said Mick had repeatedly tried to kick Wyman out of the band. (And German actually sat on that info because it was during "WW III" and he wanted the Stones to reform, and didn't want to rock any boats.)

Anyway, I'd ask Mick, "Why did you want to kick Bill out?"

My question to Mick - You really do not care what people think of you and your image that is replicated in the press - lustful social climber who's favorite instrument is the electric calculator - doesn't offend you. Because I believe that the antipathy to Jagger is transferred to the band as a whole

I would ask both of them about their relationship with each other, how they are getting along, if they can see really writing together, and will we get a full album. Well, that's more than one question, so if I had to pick just one it would be...will you marry me? grinning smiley

Hi there proudmary!

I mean he would never answer specifically the question "At what point were you most ready to call it quits and leave the band."
So you have to ask the question behind that...since you want him to tell what was the most questionable point or the most doubtful period in the existence of the RS. He never answers to those very direct questions but he sometimes likes to tell things or explain situations when you're not too greedy...so too direct questions don't have much of a chance with him in my opinion.

My question to both would be - Tell us exactly in minute detail about your visit to Cotchford Farm on 9th of June 1969? I would ask them separately and then compare the answers.

Dreamer, you've told us previously that you've never had any conversations with Mick.

So how can you be so certain as to his thinking and responses in your above post?

...Mick--why do you buy up all of the rare stuff sold at auctions and then not release anything?.....stuff like 1962 curly clayton demos, 1961 LBBATBB home demos, y'know ..that sort of stuff...would be nice to hear that stuff officially....

With your fanbase (including me) turning increasingly cynical about your ability to deliver something fantastic and special, when are you going to prove us wrong?

With the average rock band having the lifespan of a May Fly, do you ever marvel at the unique accomplishments of this band?

" Do you still feel the '69, '72 dance moves inside you? Are they still there, and you choose to have moved on, or did they disappear?"

"If I promise to not reveal a word of this afterwards - can you tell me what you really feel about Keith?"

"Can I have the keys to the vault?"

Why don't you issue the Stonesarchive bootlegs on CD ?

Why don't you reissue Goats Head Soup, Sticky Fingers, Tattoo You, and Let It Bleed as deluxe albums, with concerts from the accompanying tours, as extra cds ?

Pity that journalists do not know these details - maybe this is the reason that there are no many good Mick interviews, although in recent years he seems more open to talk about the past. Maybe in the future we will hear his version of events

I would ask them: Well, did you or did you not fight for lower ticket prices for us? As my sources have indicated.
