I am in a Tattoo YOu phase and as I was going through NICOS' site, I noticed this little tidbit from the 1982 tour in Vienna.

Does anyone have this tape??
Can anyone shed more light on this?

yeah I have it - got it off the guy who taped it (I think it maybe someone who occasionally posts here) who I was trading tapes with at the time. Its in my loft somewhere and I havent heard it in ages.

My memory might be a bit hazy but basically the story is something like this :

The Stones' party went to a restaurant in Vienna the night before their show there to celebrate Jerry Hall's birthday.

A few fans had found out they were there and turned up hoping for an autograph etc but the area where the Stones were socialising was roped off so they'd get some privacy.

Eventually, Stones' bladders being normal like everyone else's (see Romford filling station, 1964 for reference!), Keith, Woody and Chuck went for a pee.

Our intrepid collector tried to follow them in but was blocked by security. You can hear on the tape him explaining his enthusiasm to the Stones bodyguard by saying it was his first time to see the Stones, whilst in the background (with the benefit of some good bathroom acoustics) you can make out the trio harmonizing on 'Sea of Love'.

Whether Chuck counted them in first or a click-track was used hasnt been verified.

It's the last track on CD2 of "Willkommen in Wien" July 3, 1982, Vienna, Austria, Praterstadion VGP-279. Only a couple of minutes long & as Gazza says, taped from outside the toilet with security & the taper talking a bit

I need to see if I have that show. I do have the songs they were singing backstage or whateveer it was....like "Hit the Road,JAck" etc..

Those are hotelroom recordings from Naples 1982. Sadly Ronnie and Keith didn't bring their guitars to the toilet in Vienna

I did some digging and yes Erik....you are correct. I need to get the recording that Vox mentions, I have a Vienna show but it doesnt include the bathroom tapes.

BTW: I hope all of your families are well. I realized the other day that I've been communicatiing with you all for almost 8 years.

You all live at least 5000 Km from me and I feel like I've known you guys since I was a little kid
