I doubt that there will be any announcement before the Olympics and if it will be a bootleg release (I'm waiting for Sweden Circus 2003)

Caught the morning broadcast of the Today show in the US. Matt Lauer interviewed Bob costas the sports reporter hosting the TV broadcast for NBC/Universal.

At one point they joked about how much they could reveal about London trying to out-do the Beijin opening ceremony.

Two thoughts:

1) At the end of the Beijing games Jimmy Page played on the top of a London bus to promote the London games so obviously the organizers see British rock as a symbol of London.

2) The Stones camp was quick on Twitter to dispel any rumors of the Paris show on the 29th. The Games open Friday the 27th in London. Maybe they are playing the opening ceremony after all.

It makes sense. That would give his colleagues a few more years to die off...then the old 1/2 a loaf himself can do another Live Aid style show.

Or they place once before the Olympics as a teaser and then announce shows after the games.
