Facebook Eleven Million Soon! How will you celebrate?
Posted by: superrevvy ()
Date: May 21, 2012 23:52

If current trends hold, The Rolling Stones will be liked by their eleven
millionth Facebook member on or about July 12 of this year. Thus July 12, 2012 is
likely to become one of the most important anniversaries in Rolling Stones
history, both because eleven million is a very cool number and because pressing
the Facebook "like" button represents an extraordinary commitment to the band
by people from all walks of life, including mainly students, who are the
lifeblood of pop music much like sunshine is the lifeblood of a good landscape
painting. The rumors are strong that former Rolling Stones bass guitar player
virtuoso Bill Wyman will make a short cameo appearance in the otherwise lengthy
74 second video by the band rumored to be under production very soon during one
of their exciting and increasingly frequent "jam" sessions when they practice
playing. Although Wyman's appearance will be brief, 1.7 secs, it will still set the
record for his longest appearance ever in a Rolling Stones video. Everybody
should attend a watching of the video party therefore on July 12 to make this
day even more special and memorable. "Eleven Million Day"! It may only happen
once, but it will be remembered way more than eleven million times forever.

Exactly. That's the RIGHT attitude! FB is totally useless crap anway, it consumes one's time and gives nothing back. Nothing. NADA.

It's very useful for the ones who want to get fired by their Boss, for the FBI, for people who don't like you...
Make me think, what happened to my nude last summer party pictures ? And why they already appear on the net, it was written, FB is safe >grinning smiley<

Wouldn't 12 Million "likes" be a better goal for the 12th of 2012?

I can only imagine the hysteria that would ensue...

Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like...

I'm like you, but pretty soon if everyone is on, they'll KNOW who we are if there are only two of us left.

The only reason Mick (he's the leader) thanks Facebook "fans" is because he, or his advisers, considers it a commercial vehicle they can't afford to ignore. What he ignores however are the fans on IORR. IORR has no commercial value to him.

What's to celebrate?

I'd rather 6 real people 'liked' me than 6 million people in cyberspace who I'd never met.

When you read the 'comments' made by the Stones 'fans' on that site, it makes colonial's random musings read like the work of Jean-Paul Sartre.

Its basically full of kids who seem to be under the impression the Stones are making the posts themselves and whose level of fandom or ability to express themselves rarely extends beyond anything more profound than "Please come to (insert city or country of your choice. The more obscure the better) " or "U r the best - we love u"....

Great news to hear the kids even know who they are. I thought this generation was lost!

Good for you, as Letterman always says. Neither do I, actually. Or I don't care rather.
I was trying to convey the fact that this site is ignored by the Stones organisation since it has no commercial value for them as oppose to the Facebook site.

Hilarious bit from the Onion: "A troubling report finds that by 2040 every presidential candidate will be unelectable to political office due to their embarrassing Facebook posts." If someone could do the embed for me, the codes I'm copying from youtube don't seem to be embedding. thanks.
