I've just been listening to his version of It's Not The Spot Light: it's far better than Rod Stewart's.

What does everyone else think of his great singer ?

Love Bobby. Fantastic grooves on those songs. Have a few of his albums but "Dreamer" is my favorite.

Atlantic Crossing (slow side) was THE school disco record in 1977.

"It's Not The Spot Light"

God.. my heart is bursting.

"This Old Heart of mine"
"I don't want to talk about it".

arrrr

Youth is wasted on the young and if I knew then what I know now... etc.

I saw him in '76 with Phil Chen on bass and the drummer who had the biggest drum kit in the world (Carmine Appice... I had to look it up.. big hair too)...

It was totally brilliant.

And then at the end when all the lights came up and everyone was half way out.... Rod comes from behind the curtain and says "where you all going?"

Another great 15 minutes followed.

(Birmingham Odeon).

Did he drop the "Blue"?

My thought also! We always referred to him as Bobby "Blue" Bland.
A staple of KGFJ in Los Angeles -- THE soul station.
