Stones music and Russ Meyer

I do not know if I am a lone wolf regarding this topic ...smoking smiley

The film language is part of the syntax of contemporary art and culture ...(gosh..some pedantic sentence...).

Watching Scorsese´s Casino we may for instance listen to stones music but the film is not Stonish so to speak...Blues Brothers might be.

What about Russ Meyer? A part of his filmography and his campy humor, his ways of telling stories , his oblique political criticism and incorrectness, his irony about human nature and so on (easily discovered if you try to see more than the constant pair of evidences hanging on the screen) fit with 60 and 70 stones music. I mean that if the band would had been a film director they´d had shooted that some of their film and viceversa...to some extent.

Do you agree?

Sorry, I've never been able to see beyond the guy's obsession with putting buxom women through violent scenes and allowing them to humiliate or murder men. To me, it's just trash and not even funny trash. I wouldn't want a Stones soundtrack to that any more than I would with one of Warhol's films.
