Although I'd been a fan since '65 I never bought LPs on release day .
Seems I was never in the loop , so to say and always was a few days late . Got them after I heard a cut on the radio .

My first was Black And Blue .

Dirty Work...March 26, 1986. That was the first one where I was old enough to care.

Black & Blue too, got GHS a few weeks after release.....somehow IORR passed me by until after Black & Blue............

Although a fan since the early '70's....it was Steel Wheels...I still remember the disappointment...

Black and Blue was their current album when I bought it. It put me to sleep. Sticky Fingers, purchased at around the same time, didn't leave my turntable for a month. I bought Love You Live on the day it was released.

Well my Mum got it for me (I was at school) and I ran home from school all excited.

I'd already heard "Hand of Fate" previewed on the radio and knew I'd always love it.

I had a ticket to see them in a few weeks time.

I already owned GHS, IORR, "Milestones" (I loved that quirky album), Sticky Fingers, Exile, Ya Yas, BB, LIB, Aftermath and the first two albums (I had been catching up).

Emotional Rescue for me too. I actually taped it before it was released - it was played a week early on my local radio station & a friend & I both set up cassette recorders to capture it. I must have listened to the entire thing at least 15 times before it was released.

I was a kid when Steel Wheels came out and I remember making a tape dub off the vinyl my dad had bought. Loved Sad Sad Sad, the rest sucked!

Voodoo Lounge was the first one I actually bought myself, and was a joy!

Flashpoint, and every album since.

Love You Live - That was the first album that came at at a point where I was old enough to have a job (17) and have the money to do so.

I bought High Tide and Green Grass some months after its' release date when I was quite young, then all new albums afterward. A few years later, I bought all the earlier ones.

THE ROLLING STONES it was £1.50 or there abouts then,albums used to be 32shillings and I think this one was 32/2 meaning it was £1 12shillings and 2 pennies.
Decca used to be more expensive for LPs and EPs than other labels for some reason,
Bought the LP at Kerfoots Porthmadog on way home from school.
Still got that copy.

for me also the first one. don't remember what it cost but i know it was too
expensive for me. so me and my friend "johnny bit" robbed the money from his
mother's purse, me distracting her, and set out on our ten-speeds for the
"two guys from harrison" store on route 22 in union nj, a very long ride. but
it was a lot cheaper there than in our local record store. i know we didnt have
school that day and i remember when we got back we went over our friend kerry's
because there was no parents home there and we played it beginning to end at
least a dozen times, lip syncing into soup ladles and strumming tennis rackets
and stuff like that.

me and johnny split custody of the record until it was wrecked completely on
our little shit record players. each of us told our parents that the record
belonged to the other one, so no questions were raised about where the money
came from.

Hi Erik ,didn't pay much attention at school generally,my mother always said the Rolling Stones ruined my education.

Steel Wheels: for some bizarre reason I found it none too bad, though, when Voodoo Lounge came out I found that better.

Well, let's say around releasedate (sometimes even before releasedate and sometimes within weeks from releasedate): Every official Rolling Stones LP (and MJ+KR solo LP) since Tattoo You. I think "Flashpoint" was the last one before the CD format took over.

me too...except for the money part; i stole it.

the first stones-Album I bought on release-date here in germany was "Their Satanic majesties request." ----and I was shocked

All albums with new or rare tracks from 1969 to 1989...

Voodoo Lounge. And listened to it extensively .
