How many of you are at least 60 or above? Ever get the feeling that time is no longer on your side? I do. Friends have been dropping right and left. Two of the three friends I attended the last Rolling Stones concert at in 2006 are now deceased. One was in his late fifties, the other was in her mid sixties. Cancer took them both. Assuming that tomorrow is promised to no one these are the ten things I would love to see before I leave the planet.
#1. One final live performance by the Rolling Stones with Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor.
#2. One final great album by the Rolling Stones.
#3. A Beatles family reunion concert that would see all of the sons of the Beatles including Paul and Ringo on the same stage together.
#4. The Washington Huskies return to the Rose Bowl.
#5. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens once again win the Stanley Cup.
#6. An offspring of Seattle Slew wins the Triple Crown.
#7. The Vancouver Canucks win the Stanley Cup.
#8. The Seattle Seahawks go back to the original Seahawk blue and green and switch to white helmets and white pants.
#9. Miss Century 21 hits the water one last time for the 50th anniversary of the Seattle World's Fair (1962 Century 21 Exposition) this summer.
#10. Seattle gets a new NHL franchise.
What are your ten?

I don't have a list. My life has already been way more interesting than I had any right to expect it would be. If I dropped dead 30 minutes from now I wouldn't feel that I had been shortchanged. I'm certainly not going to be on my death bed muttering incoherently about the sons of Beatles.

#6. An offspring of Seattle Slew wins the Triple Crown.
Seattle Slew died in 2002, which means that even his youngest offspring are already too old to compete in Triple Crown races.
I love your list!Quote

I'll try to keep my top ten bucket list limited to things Stones related.
1 - They all really pull together and create one more killer album that surprises even the most jaded among us.
2 - A farewell (?) tour that includes Mick taylor and Bill Wyman without D, Jones, backup singers, horns, and Mac from the Faces on piano rather than Chuck L.
3 - Seats right up front for the aforementioned tour.
4 - Keith really and truly sobers up, practices his ass off and turns in one final knockout tour performance that quiets all the folks who think he can't play any more.
5 - Same thing for Ron.
6 - Woody and Keith do the backing vocals again...even though sometimes they could sound bad, when they were good it was awesome.
7 - Mick and Keith realize they are no longer young and time may be running short for them to bury the hatchet, renew their friendship and have fun together onstage; sharing the mic, smiling at and appreciating each other while playing.
8 - To finally hear live, a guitar driven version of SFTD ala Ya Yas or LYL. Let's actually have every sound we hear be played live. Lose the drum loops.
9 - Once again, let every song's intro be played by Keith regardless of how it is on the album version, ala LSTNT in '81. Those classic Keith intros were once a staple of the Stones live shows.
10 - Stop using click tracks to play songs at the album tempos. Some songs just beg to be played faster on stage.
I could go on, but I'll stop at ten in obedience to the thread's title!

Little did I know that a fulfilling, well-rounded life consisted of nothing more than being a spectator at various sporting and musical events.

Yeah, about whether or not some race horse's semen was put to good use.

Sad to read that your friends died. Sorry to read that.
Regardless, I would like to attend your statements with what you asked:
#1. One final live performance by the Rolling Stones with Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor.
I get this. But it's looking like that will remain to 1973.
#2. One final great album by the Rolling Stones.
This is totally subjective so I won't go there with what was their final great album. I really dig Undercover. Do I think it's great? Yes. Is it as great as Beggars-Exile? I don't know. What does that matter? If you dig it you dig it.
#3. A Beatles family reunion concert that would see all of the sons of the Beatles including Paul and Ringo on the same stage together.
Y'all need to stop taking so many drugs. Didn't y'all leave those alone in the 1970s?
#4. The Washington Huskies return to the Rose Bowl.
I have no idea who that is.
#5. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens once again win the Stanley Cup.
Montreal was the last Canadian team to win the Cup. When was that? 1993. Yeah, that was a while ago. But hell, they've won over 20 of 'em. The Maple Loafs, however, are a LONG ways away from winning a Cup. And it has been a while - 1967.
#6. An offspring of Seattle Slew wins the Triple Crown.
No clue as to who or what that is.
#7. The Vancouver Canucks win the Stanley Cup.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Back in the day I'd agree with you. Although I'll admit it would be better than Anahiem, Philadelphia, Washington, Phoenix, Columbus, Dallas, Colorado and San Jose from winning.
#8. The Seattle Seahawks go back to the original Seahawk blue and green and switch to white helmets and white pants.
I respect the liking of how a uni should look.
#9. Miss Century 21 hits the water one last time for the 50th anniversary of the Seattle World's Fair (1962 Century 21 Exposition) this summer.
WHAT?
#10. Seattle gets a new NHL franchise.
Well, the Seattle Metropolitans did win the Cup back in 1916-17 so yeah, it's been quite a while huh. Seattle is the second largest TV market in the United States without a NHL team (the other is Houston, TX). The arena owners probably don't want to expand to accommodate a NHL team though, yet alone a bevy of other reasons.
And...Vancouver is just a short ways away.
