Do You Think I Really Care?

This song has been stuck in my mind since It was released. I knew this as "Yellow Cab" probably like most of us here;never gave it much thought then. Listening to the bonus disc, something clicked....just love Mick's vocals and that snarl on the line "eating pizzas @ 57th & Broadway."

Just had to share

the shoot 'em dead, brainbell jangler!

I really dig the 'saw her on the D train!' lines.

"Saw her eating pizzas at 57th and Broadway". Not just one pizza. Great!

The song was written in 1977-78, so maybe there was one then!

There's no Max's Kansas City anymore either, of course, so he's rewritten some new lyrics to place the song back in 70's New York.

In the original lyric, the girl is eating pizza on '75th and Broadway'.

Just up from the Beacon, then...

I used to live at 72nd and Broadway. No pizza at 75th now.

Maybe she was walking along eating the Pizzas, having bought them elsewhere.
There's no mention of her being sat in a Pizza joint.

Indeed.

'I saw her stuffing her fat face/on 57th and Broadway' may have been a 'working' lyric....

I love this song. Its amazing how the production breathes new life into it. I like the country guitars. The lyrics and music fit together in a fun and clever way. I like what he says at the end "Hey Put your umbrella up your ass baby"..."Whoooooooh!". This is just classic Mick.

You mean "Ray's Do You Think I Really Care Pizza". OK, only New Yorkers will get that joke.
