As an England fan, that was a decent draw. Aside from group A, D was the one to get. Group B is horrible and i would have hated to have played the Republic in the group stage, nevermind the spanish.

Hedegaard: Denmark has defeated Portugal twice in the past 3 years, during the last World and Euro Cup qualifiers, no small feat. Netherlands, undoubtedly one of the best teams in the world, semifinalist at the World Cup but none the less, they need to step up their play, they did not need to defeat Sweden in their qualifying group but nonetheless, lost to them and I believe have had some draws against other opponents. And the Orange internationally are popular so I hope they do well. Robben or Sneijder are not playing as well though Huntelaar is. Germany will be strong, that is one of Netherlands bad losses, albeit in a friendly, to Germany recently, 3-0, though I'm sure the Dutch will be ready next year.

So, I think saying 'bloodbath' about Denmark is too strong, Denmark will have their hands full for sure. Denmark also did not fair well at the 2010 World Cup but that experience might count for something, I would not be so pessimistic.

One can see Denmark's recent results and they aren't too bad. Denmark may well not get out of this group, one of the or even the toughest ever at a Euro but likewise, these other teams could slip up as well, at least one of Germany, Netherlands and Portugal will not advance as well. I'm sure, most people would pick Germany and probably Netherlands to advance but we will have to see.

Oh, I forgot to add in, that is some fine movie The Damned United with Michael Sheen playing Brian Clough, any football afficionado should go see that if they have a chance, players smoked in that movie who played for the old Leeds team Clough took over. Sorry to go off topic but obviously, that movie is a period piece, they have a part with the "Flight of the rat" song by Deep Purple from I believe their rock album, where the band is like Mount Rushmore. I don't know much about Deep Purple but that song does do well in that movie. They also have a Tom Jones song in that movie.

I agree. As a child I of course liked and played football but it was the Brazil team in the World Cup 1982 which totally blew up my mind... I doesn't mean a shit that they didn't win the cup - they made football an art form. Never seen anything like that ever since.

And Socrates was the brains of that team. Everything happened via him. RIP the great man.
