My question concerns the Rolling Stones pinball machines: Stern Pinball released its version early this year, and back in 1979 Bally Mfg. also had a licensed Rolling Stones pinball machine (the Bally version's sales accounted for just under 6000 units).
What I would want to know is the difference between the 1979 and 2011 versions. The '79 version that Bally (later Bally/Midway and WMS) did obviously lacks good quality songs (only four are described in the sales flyer, including "Miss You" ), and even when they play, it is all just clips:
(Watch for the "Miss You" riff - I wish someone would do a longplay on this old machine)
Stern Pinball's 2011 version obviously corrected many of those flaws (the song samples are real, and some are even full-length rather than just clips):
