I had never heard about her since I found that pic.
Does anyone know who she is ?
Thanks,

I am a Frenchie ,as Mick affectionately called them in the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1977 .

Ava Cherry was an ex-girlfriend of David Bowie's circa 1973-1975.

I think Bowie wrote "Can You Hear Me" from Young Americans for her.

I remember I hated her in 1975 as I thought she was a bad influence on David, re his cocaine use. I was very young of course and wanted someone to blame rather than accept that Bowie's skeletal physical condition was entirely his own responsibility. There was never any question that she had a great voice though. And yes, Can You Hear Me is widely accepted to be about her. (It still brings a smile to my face when he sings 'Can you feel me inside?' and she enthusiastically responds 'I do!')
