I didn't know much about Bernard Purdie and Wilbur Bascomb until I got a hold of some late 80s Taylor boots, have read on many posts that his fellow band members have been second rate but I find that they are fine musicians in their own right. I can't say that I know much about Shane Fontain or Wayne Hammond from that period, I believe Fontain may have played with Springsteen in the 90s. Max Middleton is a fine pianist and Jeff Allen a great player too, is it the material they play that erks you rather than their ability.
