OT: Holland wins baseball world cup final

Holland to become the first european country in 73 years to win the baseball world cup final.

I do not follow this sport so much and sounds little strange to me, What does it mean? Are the big athletes of the US world series not allowed to join the national USA team?

thank you, off course we all known the saying "if you are not Dutch, you are not much" spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

But it also disturbs the order of things: What is next?
The usa taking the world cup soccer,
canada winning the cricket common wealth cup
pakistan winning ice hockey world cup.

You know there are only 25.000 registered baseball players in Holland. It just doesn't make sense.

Very impressive, they beat Cuba in the final, one of the big favorites.

The Netherlands (not Holland smoking smiley

) have always been one of the best baseball countries in Europe, so it's great to see them step up a level.

That is a TRUE World Cup.

The "World" Series does not involve the rest of the world at all.

Congratulations to the Netherlands. All the more surprising by the country being a relatively cold country, with several months being totally inappropriate for baseball. I live in California where you end up with a lot of baseball talent from the sheer availability of diamonds year round. And good weather tends to produce those Caribbean and South American players. Last time I flew into Schipol I saw a swimming pool from the air. That has to be quite a rarity, an outdoor pool in Holland. It's too bad that tournament didn't get any attention over here. But neither did the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. You can buy special cable TV packages that enable you to see it also on your laptop, but there was no over the air broadcast. I don't even know if they'll show the final between NZ and France(?) this weekend over 'normal' television.
