How far did The Stones go with their Customizing work on some of their Guitars?

A great question colonial. One that immediately comes to mind is Keith's vaunted Micawber, a vintage blackguard Telecaster (what year is Micawber by the way?) which had a humbucker installed in the neck position circa 1972. Another would be the 1959 Les Paul Custom that Keith painted and reversed the middle pickup on.yet another would be the famous Keith Burst (a 1959 Les Paul owned by Keith and later Mick Taylor) which if the photos from Ethan Russel;s 'Let it Bleed" are any indication had its Kluson tuners replaced with Grovers sometime during the the 1969 tour. During the '70s it was all the rage to swap out pickups and electronics on vintage guitars and so I wonder if Ronnie ever modded his vintage Strats. I'm sure the learned Mathijs amongst others will chime in.

Anyone else care to chime in? I'd be interested to know of mods other than the ones mentioned above.

Stones62..I don't think The Stones were ever into "the far out radcial" guitar designs that much
